Drama Workshop

A collaborative theatre experience for ages 10-15

CAMP EXPERIENCE:

A two-week drama program where middle school students will have the opportunity to work as collaborative theatre artists. This program encourages students to create a strong ensemble through introductory workshops and games that will help them stage a short show at the end of the program. The first week of camp will focus on giving the students a common theatre vocabulary and introduce basic theatre techniques, with workshops on physical and verbal storytelling. At the end of the first week, when students have grown as an ensemble and have an understanding of each other and the work, they will begin to work on an ensemble-based show. Students will experience an actual rehearsal process from the read-through to blocking to tech runs. In addition to rehearsals, the students will take part in creating parts of the set and props as to get experience on- and off-stage. The camp will conclude with the performance of the play.
