The Physics of Sports
Enjoy the mental challenges of applied physics.
Does your student love sports? In this course participants will study five different sports and some of the Physics concepts behind them. Each day we will focus on a few Physics concepts and then explore them outside on the turf or in the weight room. The course will focus on the concepts with little to no emphasis on math. This is a fun way to introduce your student to Physics while they have fun with the sports they love!
Day 1 we will learn about forces by playing soccer; Day 2 we will learn about projectile motion from playing football; Day 3 we will learn about levers, work, and power; Day 4 billiards will teach us about momentum and collisions; and on Day 5 we will discover insights about torque using T-ball.
