An orientation program designed just for Middle School students

Middle School student runs under a bridge created by Upper School students

Launch, as it is affectionately known, is an orientation program designed especially and exclusively for our Middle School. It takes place before the start of classes, and is jam-packed with activities to help both new and returning students and faculty get to know one another.

Managed by the Middle School faculty, a select group of juniors called Junior Proctors plans and facilitates the majority of Launch activities. It's the first chance the JPs have to get acquainted with the students they will continue to work with every Friday morning throughout the school year. JPs are role models and mentors for our Middle School students, who often become Junior Proctors themselves when they reach their junior year in the Upper School.

During Launch, students also spend time with their faculty-led advisory groups. They have a lot of fun, get to know their way around campus, and start to form friendships that will continue to grow all year. Students play games, take part in many different kinds of activities, and share meals as they learn more about the School and about each other.
