We believe that our students are remarkable. We know them as students in our classrooms and athletes on our teams, artists in our studios, and actors on our stages. They are the avid readers who notice that untold stories await in the science labs. They are the lifetime soccer players who realize that kicking for the football team would offer new challenges. They are the actresses who discover that directing allows them to continue their passion while honing their leadership skills. Pennington students are people who think for themselves, who care deeply about discovery and learning, and who have an eye on the future. When new students arrive at Pennington, they wonder, “Who will I become?” It is the Pennington experience that helps them to answer that question.

Join our thriving community of students, some who commute from the surrounding community, others who board from around the world.

Tradition: The Pennington experience is one of tradition. Students have been pursuing individual excellence at Pennington since 1838, gathering together from around the world from Asia and Europe, North and South America and the Caribbean for a single reason: to learn.

Energy: The Pennington experience is one of energy. A heated debate about a character’s motivation in an English class, a unstoppable shot on the soccer field, a clay pot being thrown on a potter’s wheel— energy flows at Pennington every single day.

Creativity: The Pennington experience is one of creativity. Whether it is exploring the essence of humanity with a paintbrush in art class, writing a short story for the literary magazine, or developing a hypothesis for a chemistry experiment, Pennington students are always thinking in new ways.

Honor, Spirit, Adventure: The Pennington experience is one of honor and spirit and adventure. Performing at a Coffee House, tutoring elementary students in Trenton, spending spring break learning German in Austria, raising concern about local homelessness in our weekly chapel service— our students are genuinely motivated to be involved.

Discovery: The Pennington experience is also one of discovery. By graduation day, our students know themselves. They are confident in their strengths and their passions, and they are well on their way to becoming someone: politicians, athletes, newscasters, educators, actors, business people, engineers.

We invite you to visit The Pennington School for a glimpse into all that makes up the Pennington experience! Talk with our teachers, listen to our students’ stories, see our campus, and start asking yourself, “Who will I become?” We look forward to welcoming you!
