Preparing for the Middle School
Every prospective Middle School student spends a day with us to ensure that The Pennington School is the right fit. It is a day for you to get to know us, and for us to get to know you.
What to Expect:
Expect a great day! This is an opportunity for you to experience a full day in our Middle School. We match each prospective student with a current student who will make every effort to make you feel relaxed and welcome. You will attend classes, have lunch in our dining hall, meet faculty members, and experience what it is like to be a middle schooler at Pennington.
What to Wear:
You are welcome to wear anything you choose for your Spend-a-Day visit, but because our School has a dress code, many feel more comfortable following our guidelines.
Boys — No jeans. We suggest a collared shirt (such as a polo shirt) and khakis.
Girls — No jeans. We suggest a collared shirt (such as a polo shirt) or sweater, and khakis or a skirt.
Dress for the weather — Please consider that students will be outside when changing classes and going to lunch.
What to Bring:
Applicants do not need to bring anything with them—not even lunch money! You will have many choices for lunch in our dining hall, and teachers will have any necessary supplies in their classrooms.
