A Day in the Life

I'm a year-round swimmer, and during the winter season I swim for Pennington. The rest of the year I train with a club team. When I have morning swim practice, I drive to school with a friend. Otherwise, my dad drops me off on his way to work. When I get to school, I usually go to my locker and get my stuff. Most mornings I stop in at the Admission Office. I was lucky to become a campus guide as a freshman. I enjoy meeting new people and introducing them to Pennington.

First period I have French I with Madame Voorhees. It is my first time studying French, and it can be difficult to pronounce.
 Exploring color in art class.

After French, I go to World History Honors, an intense class. Right now we're studying European colonization in the Americas. It's really interesting, and I always look forward to this class.

I took Introduction to Art as my fine arts elective and really loved it. Though I'd taken art before, we did more drawing and worked a lot faster than I'd done before. My favorite medium is drawing with charcoal, but I want to take Introduction to Photography next term.

I always have lunch with Kim, Liz, and Lisa. My favorite lunch is grilled cheese and curly fries, with strawberry cheesecake ice cream for dessert. I also have something healthy, like salad and fruit, and sometimes we go off campus for lunch.

After lunch I have Geometry Honors, and it's really challenging. I took Algebra in eighth grade so I was able to move ahead when I came to Pennington.
 Friends by the pool.

I have Biology Honors with Mr. Hall. He is also one of the Girls' Varsity Softball coaches. All of my teachers are involved with activities after school.

English I Honors with Mr. Thompson is really hard, but I love the reading. I especially liked Romeo and Juliet because it was suspenseful. The test questions are really complex, but I grasp the material, so I do well. Mr. T. is funny, and that makes the class enjoyable.

I have a study hall at the end of the day, and I can find friends and talk, or do work, or go to the student center or library. I make good use of my time because I have a challenging course load and am busy with swimming in the evenings.
