The Pennington School has been selected to represent New Jersey and the United States by performing at The American High School Theatre Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland...
The Arts Department at The Pennington School offers a sequential
curriculum and activities in drama, music, and the visual
arts. Students learn skills and participate in ways that encourage
a lifelong enjoyment of the arts.
Students in the Middle School enjoy exploratory courses in
each of the three disciplines during the school day and related
arts activities outside of the daily schedule.
In the Upper School, students take basic courses in drama,
music, and art and then can proceed to intermediate and advanced
courses in their areas of choice.
The Campus Center opened in 2004, centralizing
and enlarging the facilities for the arts
department. The visual arts has art studio
classrooms, a photography classroom and darkroom,
a kiln room, and a gallery. Music benefits from
a music theory classroom with computer stations,
four instrument and vocal practice rooms, and a
tiered choral rehearsal room. Drama is now based
in the McLarty Blackbox Theatre.
