Coach: Bob McHale and Ross Contiliano
From the days of Frankie Hayes who played for Pennington in the 1920s and who went on from Pennington to play for the Philadelphia Athletics and their legendary coach Connie Mack, to Coach Poore’s 1963 team that defeated Lawrenceville 2–1 in a home thriller, to the mighty Red Raider teams that consistently won or vied for Penn-Jersey League titles and Prep State Championships in the 1970s, Pennington baseball has a rich history. Pennington’s baseball program is alive and well as today’s team plays on the very same Heritage Field and prepares for its season with a spring break trip to Florida. Facilities include batting cages, dugouts, and a new scoreboard. Coaches Bob McHale (3rd season) and Ross Contiliano (13th season) have set the program on a path to become highly competitive despite a challenging schedule. Coach McHale has an extensive coaching background, and was a member of the USA Baseball 18 & Under Baseball Team's coaching staff this past summer. The team competed in the Tournament of Stars in Cary, N.C. prior to heading off to play an international schedule of games.
