Mr. Doughty’s relationship with Pennington spans approximately sixteen years: first as an associate director of admission for Carnegie Mellon University, where he actively recruited students from The Pennington School, and more recently as the School’s director of college guidance for the past eleven years. During this time period, he has worked with approximately 2,000 seniors through the college admission process. Mr. Doughty also serves as a hall parent and shares the responsibility as co-head coach for the School’s varsity swim teams. A graduate of the University of Delaware and currently a graduate student at Drexel University, Mr. Doughty is an active member of the National Association of College Admissions Counseling (NACAC), the New Jersey Association of College Admissions Counseling (NJACAC), and the Pennsylvania Association of College Admissions Counseling (PACAC). In addition, Mr. Doughty has visited over 260 colleges and universities during his tenure here at Pennington.

Mrs. Ireland served as director of undergraduate admissions at Bryn Mawr College and senior associate director of admission at Villanova University. During her tenure at both institutions, she was the territory manager for the state of New Jersey and traveled internationally to recruit students.  With over twenty years in the field of admission, Mrs. Ireland has led several admission committees and has read thousands of applications. She received her bachelor’s degree in social sciences from Providence College and a master’s degree in human services from Villanova University.   She is currently completing her doctorate (Ed.D.) in educational leadership from Saint Joseph’s University. Mrs. Ireland is a member of the National Association of College Admissions Counseling (NACAC) and the New Jersey Association of College Admissions Counseling (NJACAC). She is an active member of the College Board 2011 National Forum Planning Committee.

Ms. Uzupis joined The Pennington School’s College Guidance staff in 2007 after serving almost three decades in the Hamilton Township School District in Mercer County, New Jersey. A graduate of Northeastern University, Ms. Uzupis works primarily with students in the School’s Center for Learning in the college admission process. She also teaches English and serves as the advisor for the School’s mock trial team. Her son, Drew, is a member of The Pennington School Class of 2007.
