Thirty graduate from Middle School

The Pennington School held graduation ceremonies on June 7 for its Middle School at the Pennington United Methodist Church. Thirty students were graduated. Head of Middle School Todd D. Paige offered opening remarks and announced eighth-grade award-winners, and Head of School Stephanie G. Townsend and faculty advisors joined him in presenting the diplomas.

Matthew Celentano of Newtown, Pa., was valedictorian, judged first in scholarship for the eighth grade; he also received the award for excellence in science. Shanna Colyar of New Hope, Pa., was salutatorian and was recognized for excellence in French. Other eighth-grade speakers offering reflections were Thomas Horsley III of Pennington and Austin Wilson of Ewing.

Among the other awards presented were those for citizenship to Diana Bonilla of Fairless Hills, Pa.; for academic perseverance to Connor McAuliffe of Skillman; and for greatest improvement, as well as excellence in mathematics, to Sang Won Baek of Masan-si, Korea. The Middle School Instrumental Ensemble performed, as did the Middle School Ukulele Class and the Sixth Grade Handchimes.
