Dear Pennington families,

Welcome back to our returning families! To our new families, welcome to the Pennington School community! We hope you all enjoyed the fun-filled summer days, and it is with great enthusiasm that we invite you to get ready for another exciting and successful school year. Our students are so fortunate to be enrolled in a school with an outstanding administration and exceptional teachers who strive to fulfill the School’s mission of ensuring that our children seek personal excellence and aspire to lives of dedication, perseverance, resilience, integrity, and service.

It is through your support of The Pennington School Parents Association (TPSPA) that we are able to contribute so much to our community. Over $100,000 of your Parent Association moneys from last year provided funding for educational programs, purchased a range of items for the School, and contributed financial support for student trips. To see a complete list of all we accomplished in the 2014-15 school year, please click here. Thank you all for the time you devote to volunteer service, and for the financial contributions you make to support Pennington.

We want every parent to feel that they are part of the Pennington community and we invite you to join us at TPSPA events throughout the year. This year’s calendar includes the following:

In addition to joining us at events, we hope that you will want to participate as a committee chair, committee member, or general volunteer. Whatever level of participation you choose, your time and involvement will be greatly appreciated.

  • Parent Parties for each grade:  Each year, there is a party in the fall for parents in each grade to get to know each other and welcome new people to the Pennington community. Dr. Hawkey has graciously offered to host the parties for both Grade 6 and Grade 9 at Corson House, but we are still seeking volunteers for all of the other grades. If you would like to host a party at your home, please contact Karin Eckerson for Middle School at karin.eckerson@gmail.com or Lori Washton for Upper School at lori44q@aol.com. The party theme and the date/time are up to you; we have had events that were catered dinners and others that were a casual Sunday potluck, and all of these events are wonderful.
  • 2016 Red & Black BASH Silent Auction and Party: Many volunteers are needed in many different capacities to assist with this annual fundraising event. If you can help, please email Annie Michaelson at anniemichaelson@yahoo.com
  • General Volunteers: Throughout the year, parents assist at School events including Homecoming, holiday decorating, faculty luncheons, and more. Please contact Lori Washton at lori44q@aol.com if you would like to offer some time.
The Parents Association is looking forward to a wonderful and productive year with our families, faculty, and staff. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of your summer! We look forward to seeing you on September 10.

All the best,
