I am interested in working on the following committees. Also indicate if you would be willing to chair or co-chair a committee. You will receive a phone call from either the Chairperson or a volunteer coordinator to confirm your interest and answer any questions.

The Pennington School Parents Association is a volunteer organization. Its success and survival rests solely on the enthusiasm and volunteering of its members. Every parent is welcome and encouraged to volunteer in whatever way he or she feels most comfortable. There is no time requirement or limitation. Give as much as you can.

Getting involved in the Parents Association is the best way to get to know the parents of your child's friends, other School parents, and School life in general. It's the best way to "stay in touch."

There are a number of committees available, each requiring a different time commitment. There is a wide range of interests to choose from as well.

All parents are encouraged to sign up for as many events as they'd like. You may volunteer your help at any time throughout the school year, as well, by completing the online volunteer form or contacting the committee chairperson or the President of the Executive Board.

Grade Representatives
Parents from each grade are responsible for relaying information via the phone chain. They are also involved in the planning and execution of the Class Picnic in the fall and the Faculty/Staff Appreciation Luncheon in the spring, and for supporting the class parties and student life activities. One Head Grade Representative is selected from each grade.

Used Textbook Sale
On Orientation Day each year, students may buy used textbooks for half price. Volunteers are needed to set up the day of the sale, to sell books, and to clean up. At the end of the year they organize the gathering of books from the students for the next year's sale.

Fall Social and Fundraising Event
The Parents Association primary social event and fundraiser is held each year in the fall. The event features a wine tasting, light buffet, and a live and silent auction. Volunteers are needed to help with the auction, decorating, food, program/ad book, raffle, set-up, and many other event-planning activities.

Boarding Life
This committee, composed of parents of boarding students, works to support and enhance boarding life.

Parents Support Network
The Network's goal is to serve as both an informational resource and a forum for Pennington parents. Programs are offered three times a year on key educational issues affecting our children today. Volunteers help to seek viable speakers and educational programs to present to the parent population during the coming year.

Class Parties
A family from each class hosts all the parents of their child's grade for a "Get Acquainted" evening. These parties are scheduled from September through early December.

Library Volunteers
The staff of Meckler Library uses parent volunteers in a variety of tasks, including providing coverage in the computer lab, cataloguing and shelving, and organizing collections.

Fine Arts
Volunteers offer support during theater productions, art exhibitions, musical performances, and PA fundraising events.

Book Fair
The fair is held each year in the late spring at Barnes and Noble. Volunteers are needed to plan the event, coordinate publicity, set up, help with sales, and clean up.

CD Bingo
This event is a fun night of bingo for all students. The prizes are their favorite CDs.

Prom/Cotillion
This committee assists with plans for the Prom and the Christmas Cotillion.

Admission Office
Volunteers are needed throughout the school year to make up packets, help with mailings, work at open houses, and serve as contacts for prospective or new parents.

Communications
This committee works to improve lines of communication between parents and the School.

Parents Association Newletter
Volunteers are needed to write articles, photograph events, and assist with the mailings.
