Spring Social Event/Fundraiser (Sip N Bid)

Saturday, April 21, 2012. Mark your calendars! This casual event features wine tasting, light buffet, and live and silent auction. Join us as we prepare for this fun event by working on the auction or the ad book, decorating, or the 50/50 raffle. Please consider helping us plan TPSPA’s biggest fundraiser!

Used Textbook Sale

On Orientation/Registration Day each fall, students may buy used textbooks for half-price. Volunteers are needed to set up for the sale, to sell books, and to clean up.

Homecoming

TPSPA has a table at the football field (weather permitting) for Homecoming Day. Help is needed to plan for Homecoming and to work the table that day.

Fall Friendraiser

Be part of our fifth annual “friendraiser”; Help plan and run this on-campus event.

Ongoing Activity Descriptions

Grade representatives

Two parents from each grade in both the Middle and Upper School are needed to act as grade representatives. Grade reps help with the Back-to-School Night picnic and the staff appreciation luncheon in the spring. Middle School reps also help plan and implement parties for the students several times a year. Grade reps help with the pre-prom “promenade” on campus as part of our safe prom initiative. Volunteers help decorate, plan, and greet students at this 1½ hour event. Grade reps decorate the senior tent in preparation for graduation. It is suggested that grade representatives attend the two general board meetings.

Admission Office volunteers

Volunteers are needed throughout the year to make up packets, help with mailings, work on Open Houses, and serve as contacts for new students.

Library volunteers

The staff at Meckler Library use parent volunteers in a variety of tasks, including providing coverage in the computer lab, cataloging and shelving books, and organizing collections.

Boarding Life Committee

This committee, composed of parents of boarding students, works to support boarding life. In addition, committee members assist with an end-of–the-year Hall Parent party.

Middle School Dances

Volunteers provide snacks for the dances. There are three dances per year.

Silva Gallery of Art

The Silva Art Gallery in the Campus Center is open Monday through Thursday beginning at 11:00 a.m. Parent volunteers are needed to work the first shift from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., overseeing the gallery and welcoming guests. Enjoy yourself in this very pleasant atmosphere.

Book Fair

A volunteer is needed to chair this event.
