Cost: $350.00
All participants must be 15 years old by the beginning of the class.
A pretest for new full course students is required at the Michael T. Martin Aquatics Center pool. This can be scheduled any afternoon Monday through Thursday between 3:00-4:15 p.m.
Necessary pretest skills and prerequisites:

Swim 300 yards continuously (Combination of front crawl and breaststroke, and demonstration of sidestroke.)

Tread water for two minutes using only your legs.

Complete the following in one minute and forty seconds:

Starting in the water, swim twenty yards

Surface-dive to a depth of seven to ten feet to retrieve a ten-pound object

Return to the surface
-
Swim on your back to return to the starting point with both hands on object, with object suspended just above the surface of the water

Exit the water without using ladder or steps
Please note that there is pre-course work that needs to be completed before the class begins. This is an accelerated course; students will have to do reading and writing assignments on their own.
Certification requirements:

Attend all class sessions

Successfully perform all required skills

Successfully complete three final skill scenarios

Pass the written exam with a minimum grade of 80 percent or better on each section
All course materials will be distributed via email. There will be no make-up classes or refunds given for a missed class.
