Inclement Weather Policy
Students and Faculty
Because many faculty members and students live on campus, and because all students can now connect to their classes via technology, the School does not generally cancel classes during inclement weather.
If weather causes the School to be closed or if there is a delayed opening, a message from One Call Now as well as a text alert will be sent to all phone numbers provided on the Veracross Parent Portal. In all cases, students are expected to check the Schoology online course system for assignments or other instructions.
If on-campus classes are cancelled for inclement weather, boarding students will follow a special schedule that includes extra activities for that day.
When the School operates on a delayed opening schedule for in-person classes, the emergency notification system, Schoology, and the website will give details about class starting times and where students should report upon arrival. In most cases, students will report to every class with a shortened schedule for each.
