Day and Boarding; Grades 6-12

Class of 2023

We have begun scheduling for the next academic year and need parents’ input to formulate an appropriate course of study for your child. To become more familiar with our course offerings, please review the 2020–21 Upper School Course Catalog. Then, please download the Course Request Worksheet for the Class of 2023, and complete, sign, and return it by Friday, May 1, 2020. This worksheet should be scanned and sent to Mary Dwyer at

A typical sophomore schedule in our seven-period schedule includes the five core subject areas (Math, English, World Languages, Science, and History); two required half-year courses: Religion in America and Health and Wellness; and a quarter course, Public Speaking. Sophomores may elect to use the remaining period of the day for study or to request one additional half-year elective of their choosing.

You will note that in each of the core subjects there is an option to select an honors-level course. Placement in these courses is subject to department approval and a student’s performance on a placement exam. Placement exams are administered for students who request an honors-level course, advanced math course, or advanced world language course (level II and above). More information will follow after we receive and process the completed Course Selection Guide.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mary Dwyer, administrative assistant to the academic dean, at 609–737–6135 to schedule a time to speak with Dean of Academic Affairs Scott Peeler.
