As the fall athletics season came to a close, a number of Pennington teams and athletes were recognized for their achievements over the last few months. 

The Varsity Girls’ Soccer team completed an undefeated season (17-0-1) for only the second time in program history! The Red Hawks brought home another Mercer County Tournament Championship (for 13 total) and State Prep Championship (for 21 total). 

Morgan Kotch ’24 set a School record for single-season scoring with a total of 40 goals. Kotch was named both Prep and Area Player of the Year by The Trentonian. 

Kotch, Reagan Amberson ’23, Ava Brass ’23, and Hailey Adamsky ’24 were all named to the NJISAA Prep A 1st Team. All four players, as well as Lina Ballmann ’24 were also named to the All Prep 1st team by The Trentonian. All Prep Honorable Mentions included Meg Balerna ’25, Sara Chrnelich ’26, Olivia Davis ’24, and Laney Keith ’26.  

The girls’ coaches were also recognized for the impressive season, with both Coach Hawkey and Coach Murphy named Prep Coaches of the Year by The Trentonian. 

The Varsity Field Hockey team had a very strong season, and several team members recently received recognition.

Ava Vecchione ’23 and Emma Nelson ’24 were both named to the Prep B 1st Team, and Vecchione was named to the Central Jersey Field Hockey Coaches Association (CJFHCA) 1st team. Nelson was named to the CJFHCA 2nd team, and Gracen Ward ’23 and Claire King ’23 were named Honorable Mentions. 

The Trentonian named the following players to their All Prep 1st Team: Vecchione, King, Ward, Nelson, Grace Irizarry ’23, and Sammy Lambdin ’24. Players chosen for the 2nd team included Lexi Samano ’23, Isabel Adams ’23, Olivia Cano ’25, Devan Tirendi ’25, and Sophie Raymond ’26. 

The Varsity Boys’ Soccer Team also had an excellent season, winning both the Mercer County Tournament title and the Battle of Route 31 Cup. 

A number of players were recognized for their achievements on the field, with Nik Kempe ’23, Conor Coyne ’23, and Kieran Karp ’24 all named to the NJISAA Prep A 1st Team. They were also named to The Trentonian’s All Prep 1st Team, along with Hugo Marquez-Luque ’24, Pablo Carnicer-Cozar ’24, Bacary Tandigora ’25, and Matt Lynch ’24. Keane Brown ’24, Justin Davidyock ’24, Alvaro Carncier-Cozar ’26, Enrique Porras, Jr. ’23, and Philip Ross ’23 were all Honorable Mentions.  

Coach Chad Bridges was named Co-Coach of the Year.
