This summer, Daisy Hutnik '22 completed the five-week New Jersey Scholars Program (NJSP). The highly selective program, which was held virtually this year, brought together 39 motivated and high-achieving rising high school seniors for an interdisciplinary learning experience.

The theme of this year's program was "Mind and Body: The Future of Being Human," and the program's discussion-based, experiential classes focused on imagining a brighter future for humanity. Hutnik tied this theme together with her interest in design in her final paper, in which she researched the potential for vernacular architecture (a style of design that uses local building materials, resources, and traditions) to preserve cultural heritage around the world.

Congratulations to Hutnik for her achievement!
