Spirit Week, Homecoming Weekend invitation from the Headmaster: Please read the attached letter from Headmaster William Hawkey, inviting students and parents to participate in Spirit week, October 15 through October 19, and Homecoming weekend, October 19 and October 20.

Red and Black Bash meeting October 16: Save the date of Tuesday, October 16, at 8:15 a.m. in the Silva Gallery for the first Red and Black Bash volunteer meeting. It's time to get started on this year's party and auction, which is happening on February 23, 2019, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in Sparks Gymnasium. The theme is Lights! Camera! Auction! Hollywood Nights. Parents for Pennington needs volunteers to obtain auction donations (parent and business solicitations, faculty donations), and help with data entry and website management, decorations, menu, advertisements, catalog, 50/50 raffle, check in, check out, set up, runners for evening of event, spotters for live auction, and break down, among other things. Join us to plan a wonderful party and fundraiser to benefit The Pennington School.

Applied Science Speaker October 26: On Friday, October 26, at 3:00 p.m. in the Wesley Forum, Charles Brumlik, Ph.D., will deliver a presentation as part of the Applied Science Speaker Series. Dr. Brumlik holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from Texas A&M University and a law degree from New York Law School. He worked both as a scientist and as an attorney in academia, government labs, nonprofits, startups, a law firm, ExxonMobil, and Honeywell. Dr. Brumlik now runs Nanobiz LLC, an international consulting firm catering to the world's largest science companies and their B2B (business to business) customers in a broad range of industries including aerospace, biomedical, chemicals, cosmetics, electronics, energy, food and beverage, manufacturing, and telecommunications. He will explore different traditional and non-traditional career paths that combine science with other disciplines. Questions are welcome.

Princeton Common Ground speaker October 30: Princeton Common Ground will host a speaker, Charles H. Vogl, on Tuesday, October 30, at the Hun School. Princeton Common Ground presents several innovative speakers for parents each year that are intended to inspire, invigorate, and inform. Common Ground hosts lectures, panel discussions, and interactive experiences designed to promote open discussion of relevant topics and foster community among participants.
