Basketball Tournament raises money to fight pediatric cancer

Thirteen teams of students and faculty members participated in the Three-on-Three Basketball Tournament on Friday, March 1, raising over $320 in tournament fees to benefit Four Diamonds. According to the Four Diamonds website, the organization, in conjunction with Penn State Children's Hospital, fights pediatric cancer by "assisting children and their families through superior care, comprehensive support and innovative research." These proceeds will be added to the money that the Class of 2019 is raising through this year's Four Diamonds Mini-THON on April 6.

The tournament was run for the third time by seniors Emma and Amy Garry, with the Special Stars Soccer Program having been the recipient of the proceeds the last two years.

This year's tournament champions are "Unlimited Business," consisting of juniors Rickey Eng, Chad Brunner, Ameer Hasan, and George Burditt, and freshman Luke Kavulich. In the championship game, they defeated "Tune Squad," — a faculty and staff team of Chandler Fraser-Pauls, Brenden Bendorf, David Thomas, Stephen Sheehan, and Billy Hawkey.
