Boys' basketball to play in Prep B final on Wednesday

Pennington's varsity boys' basketball team defeated Princeton Day School 66-63 in the NJISAA Prep B semi final game played on Sunday, February 10 in Princeton.

Pennington will face Doane Academy in the championship game on Wednesday, February 13. Doane defeated Newark Academy by a score of 74-67. Doane defeated the Red Raiders in an earlier regular season game.

A big team effort was needed and that is what the Red Raiders produced. Patrick Higgins scored 32 points for Pennington and added five rebounds and seven assists. Higgins hit several key free throws down the stretch.

Ryan Bowen scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds, two assists and three steals.

Bo Hartpence grabbed 11 rebounds, blocked four shots and scored six points. Tarun Kumar scored 11 points and had two assists and two steals.

Rickey Eng scored five points and picked up eight rebounds, two assists and two steals. Kyle Ratner chipped in two points and played solid defense for Pennington.

The boys' team will play in the NJISAA Prep B State Championship at Doane Academy on Wednesday, February 13th, at 5:00 p.m.
