Brian Keating '18 is inaugural presenter in Industry Professional Speaker Series

On Wednesday, November 17, Brian Keating '18 spoke with students from the Pennington Music Collective over Zoom about his experience working with different kinds of audiovisual technology and how The Pennington School helped pique his interest in audio engineering. Now an A/V technician at CitiBank, Keating graduated with a degree in recording arts from Full Sail University, and has worked as an audio producer, engineer, technician, and editor. His positions have included roles in the television and radio industries, and Keating spoke about how much he enjoyed the different kinds of opportunities his career offers, while emphasizing the importance of finding the right fit in a job.

Keating credits his teachers at Pennington with helping him discover his passion for audio engineering, saying he loved the recording space on campus and was grateful to have learned how to use Pro Tools software, which he says is "industry standard." He recommended that students take advantage of the time and freedom they have with the recording equipment at Pennington to experiment and learn as much as they can before entering the professional world. The event was inspiring and informative for all the students in attendance!
