Coach Chad Bridges named Coach of the Year

Pennington's varsity boys' soccer coach Chad Bridges has been named Coach of the Year by The Trentonian. Bridges' honor marks the second year in a row that the newspaper has recognized him, having named him one of two SportsPersons of the Year in 2016.

The Pennington boys' team entered the season as the number-one-ranked high school squad in the nation. Injuries, graduation, and the addition of several new players created a challenge for Bridges at the outset; however, he and assistant coach Billy Hawkey guided the team to a notably successful season.

The Red Raiders finished with a 14–4 record and won their third Mercer County Tournament title in a row. In addition to that record-setting achievement, that victory was the fourth MCT title in the last seven seasons for Pennington's boys' soccer program.
