Four-point loss for girls in MCT final

Pennington and Trenton Catholic Academy treated the crowd at the Cure Insurance Arena in Trenton to a scintillating and knock-down-drag-out battle in the championship game of the Mercer County Tournament.

The final score of the game played on Thursday, February 22 was 59-55 in favor of Trenton Catholic Academy. Pennington's players gave every ounce of effort they had and battled back from a first quarter deficit to set up an exciting second half in which they outscored TCA.

The game marked the first time that a Pennington girls' basketball team reached the MCT final. The Red Raiders will add to their history-making season when they play in and host the NJISAA Prep A championship game on Tuesday, February 27. That game begins at 4:30 p.m. and will be played versus Pingry.

The Red Raiders now stand at 22-3 on the season.
