Girls' basketball excited for opportunity to play in Molinelli final

Carly Rice (19 points, 2 assists, 4 rebounds), Diamond Christian (6 assists, 10 points, 3 rebounds), Ayanna Johnson ( 9 points, 5 blocks, 14 rebounds), Leah Johnson (16 points, 15 rebounds, 2 blocks), and Gianna Lucchesi (4 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals) led the way for Pennington in a convincing win over Hopewell by a score of 58-27.

The win puts Pennington into the championship game of the 14th Annual John Molinelli Holiday Classic. The final will be played versus the Vikings of Voorhees High School on Wednesday, December 28 at 4:00 p.m. at Lawrence High School. Pennington has played in the Molinelli Holiday Classic eight times, winning titles in the 2006-07 and 2009-10 seasons.

The Red Raiders bench came up big once again. Mia Justus (5 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 assist), Emma Garry (1 assist, 1 rebound), Dana Kiefer (2 blocks, 2 rebounds) and Sophia Kavulich gave their team key plays on offense and especially on the defensive end of the floor. Jackie King, Mary Griswold, Ava Kavulich (2 rebounds, 1 assist), Amy Garry and Luisa Andrade also came off the bench and played well for Pennington.
