Ice hockey defeats CHA in must-win game

Five assists from Charlie Kovalcik, a hat trick by Logan Harris (his second of the season), two goals from Alex Boczniewicz and two assists from Sid Spencer helped propel Pennington to a must-win victory over Chestnut Hill Academy.

The Red Raiders defeated Chestnut Hill Academy 6-5 in a game they had to win if they wanted to be a part of their Independence League Playoffs.

Alex Boczniewicz also assisted on two Pennington goals. Charlie Kovalcik added a goal to go along with his five assists. Logan Harris assisted twice as well.

Bill Bernal picked up 35 saves for Pennington in the must-win game. Matt Reilly played another strong game for Pennington as did Brian Corcoran, Sean Brennan, Malcolm McGill, and Kat Horsley.

Pennington gets right back onto the ice on Tuesday, February 6 when they play in the Mercer County Tournament. The Red Raiders face the Spartans of Steinert at 4:30 p.m. at the hockey rink within Mercer County Park.
