World Math Day took place on Tuesday, March 6! What is it, you ask? World Math Day is a forty-eight-hour period of time when an estimated four million students from around the world compete in one-minute games testing arithmetic and numeracy skills. The objective of the day is to have fun with math and take part in some friendly, global competition. In addition, the more correct answers made, the more money will be donated to UNICEF to support education efforts for children and schools in Zimbabwe.
During community meeting last week, Ms. Cohen presented this event to the entire Middle School to prepare them for what is to come. Mr. Paige demonstrated the game as he competed with someone from the UK, a loss from which he has not yet recovered. Due to our involvement with World Math Day, No Tech Tuesday will be moved to No Tech Thursday next week. #WMD2018
