Pennington Swimming enjoyed their recent trip out to Franklin & Marshall College's Kunkel Aquatic Center/McGinness Pool for the Easterns Prep Nationals Swim Meet.
Several Red Raider boys and girls hit the qualifying times required to participate at Easterns and made the most of the opportunity to swim in the storied competition that attracts private schools from all over the US.
The boys' 200 medley relay team and boys 200 free relay team managed to set new School records. Oliver Gassmann, Ben Eckerson, Mark Usiskin and David Curtiss made up the relay teams that now own new School records.
Curtiss went on to set a new national prep record in the 50 Free as he swam a time of 19.42. Swimming World Magazine captured the moment and that can be read here.
Ben Eckerson swam an outstanding race in the Championship Final of the 100 back stroke as he took first place.
In the end, Pennington would score enough points to finish an impressive sixth overall, behind Andover, Episcopal, Mercersburg, Germantown, and Penn Charter.
