On Tuesday, December 14, the annual Service of Lessons and Carols was presented in a hybrid format. Residential students and faculty were invited to the Pennington Presbyterian Church for readings and music presented by members of the community, and the whole event was streamed over Zoom for those who were off campus.
The program included the Pennington School Orchestra, Jazz Band, Brass Ensemble, and Jazz Combo contributing the instrumentals, and the Pennington Singers and Middle School singers led the congregation in carols. As well as selections from scripture, the poem “When Giving is All We Have” by Alberto Rios was read, and Reverend David Hallgren shared a homily entitled “From the Start,” emphasizing finding beauty and comfort in the quiet moments.
Many thanks to all students, faculty, and staff who contributed their time and talents to the service, and to all members of the community who took the time to participate in this tradition!
