Stephanie Cohen, Erin O'Connell, and Len Leib named University of Chicago Outstanding Educators

Teachers of English Stephanie Cohen and Erin O'Connell and Teacher of Mathematics Len Leib were selected as 2021 University of Chicago Outstanding Educators. The university offers newly admitted students the opportunity to nominate teachers who have made an impact in their lives. Minghao "Tony" Li '21 nominated Cohen and O'Connell, and Shivant Krishnan '21 nominated Leib.

"For over thirty years, the University of Chicago has asked incoming students to recommend their outstanding educators—individuals who challenged them intellectually for the first time, opened new vistas of discovery, or channeled their private interests into paths for intellectual growth," wrote James G. Nondorf, the University of Chicago's dean of admissions and financial aid. "True learning is a collaborative experience that depends as much on the dedication of the teacher as it does on the motivation of the student."

Congratulations to Cohen, O'Connell, and Leib on this recognition of the incredible work they do at The Pennington School.
