The Tesla Quartet will present a concert at The Pennington School on Monday, January 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the reading room of the Meckler Library. The evening's repertoire will include, Fratres (Pärt), The Wind in High Places (Adams), Allaqi (Goddard), and String Quartet No. 5 (Glass). Praised for their "superb capacity to find the inner heart of everything they play, regardless of era, style or technical demand" (The International Review of Music), the Tesla Quartet brings refinement and prowess to both new and established repertoire. Dubbed "technically superb" by The Strad, the Tesla Quartet recently took Second Prize as well as the Haydn Prize and Canadian Commission Prize at the 12th Banff International String Quartet Competition. The quartet has also released their debut CD, Haydn, Ravel, Stravinsky which BBC Music Magazine has named "Chamber Choice" for its December issue with a glowing Double 5-Star review.
