Varsity boys' basketball defeats Lawrence

Pennington's varsity boys' basketball team defeated Lawrence High School in the consolation game of the 14th Annual John Molinelli Holiday Classic on Thursday, December 28.

The Red Raiders have now won three of their last four games with the one loss coming in a barn-burner versus Hopewell in the Molinelli Classic's first round game. Five Red Raiders scored in double figures versus the Lawrence Cardinals and the team came up with big plays in the final minutes to seal the win.

Bo Hartpence (13 points, 2 steals, 4 rebounds), Patrick Higgins (14 points, 2 steals, 6 rebounds), Mitch Phillips (16 points, 1 steal, 6 rebounds), Chauncey Sterling (11 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists), and Jamar Tucker (18 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists) paced Pennington to victory.

Rickey Eng, David Iorio, and Rob Omrod all played well in the win. Mitch Phillips was selected to the all-tournament team.

Next up for the Red Raiders is a home game on Wednesday, January 3 versus the Foxes of Moorestown Friends School. That game starts at 4:15 p.m.
