Varsity girls' soccer wins 2-0

A penalty kick goal by senior Kylie Daigle in the first half of today's match versus number-one ranked Hunterdon Central gave Pennington a lead that it would not give up.

Pennington would go on to score a second goal in the second half as junior Steph Balerna supplied freshman Morgan Kotch with a well placed through ball and Kotch raced toward goal before placing a shot into the far post of the goal.

Senior Molly Gibbard and Kotch each had near misses in the first half of the game.  Hunterdon Central had a good look at the net sail just over the crossbar in the first half.

Pennington's defense was a major reason the team was able to hold Hunterdon Central scoreless today.  Seniors Jordan Mahony and Kira Cafferty were joined by sophomores Reagan Amberson and Ava Brass and senior goalkeeper Sophia Kavulich to post a shutout.

Midfielders Daigle, Balerna, Ella Davidyock, Sophia Murphy, and Jenna Bluni did well to maintain possession against a talented Hunterdon Central team.

Forwards Molly Kain and Shealyn Tirendi played well in the victory.
