Painting Camp

Study history's great painters while improving your own painting skills.

CAMP EXPERIENCE:
Do you know who Pablo Picasso, Georgia O'Keefe, Jacob Lawrence, and Diego Rivera are? Why they are famous for their unique approaches to colors and shapes in their artwork? Discover more about these artists and how they created colorful images that populate our museums around the world.

We will also help you strengthen your skills in:

mixing paint
applying paint
color theory
perspective
abstraction
looking

You will be using wet mediums such as acrylic paint and water colors. And you will learn to develop important painterly habits such as:

perseverance
confidence in expression
craftsmanship
critical thinking

An experience sketchbook and a portfolio of your artwork will be produced over the course of the week.
