Ceramics Camp

CAMP EXPERIENCE:

Explore the medium of clay on the both the potter's wheel and by using a variety of hand-building techniques. Students will learn how to throw a cup and a bowl on the potter's wheel using durable stoneware clay. These wares will be fully functional and able to be used for years to come. Students will also construct personal statements during our two weeks together through a variety of conceptional projects, including:

a story plate
a tree-of-life tile
a personal impressions vase
a sculptural container

Students will construct all projects from raw clay and finish each ware with professional glazes. Parents and friends are invited during the afternoon session of the last day to an art show in the Silva Gallery of Art featuring all the work created during this course.
