Erica Howard-Potter ’93 is a successful, New York-based attorney and partner at Pryor Cashman who has remained an engaged alumna of The Pennington School. She recently provided her expertise to the Pennington alumni community by offering a free estate planning webinar (available here). Her advice included essential advice for estate planning that is important for everyone to know, at any age, to confidently plan for their family and legacy.
Howard-Potter, who attended Pennington’s Upper School, credits her personal and professional success to her transformative experiences. She said, “Pennington gave me a voice and taught me how to advocate for and take ownership of my education. It gave me a step up in life and made so many things possible for me.”
After graduating from Pennington, Howard-Potter went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts from Union College, a Juris Doctorate from the Albany Law School, and a Master of Laws from the New York University School of Law.
In her role as partner and member of Pryor Cashman’s Private Client Group and Trusts + Estates Practice, she counsels individuals and families on all aspects of estate, gift, and succession planning; estate and trust administration; and charitable and tax planning. She works with clients to develop, structure, draft, and implement estate plans, and she prepares documents including wills, revocable trusts, powers of attorney, health care proxies, living wills, insurance trusts, and grantor trusts.
