This year, we celebrate three incredible Pennington School alumni who have dedicated a combined 92 years of service to the School. We thank them for their service to Pennington and congratulate them on their retirements.

Jane Bott Childrey ’89 returned to Pennington in 2014 as the Director of Alumni Relations and as a hall parent. Jane spent over a decade connecting with alumni around the globe and developing and growing alumni programs to foster the special sense of community that defines the Pennington experience amongst our alumni. Jane will be on campus for Homecoming Reunion Weekend in October, and we can't wait to see her then!

Jerry "Chief" Eure '75 has served as Pennington's Director of Athletics since 2007 and previously worked as the School's football, basketball, and baseball coach, health teacher, driving instructor, and advisor. He has an exemplary winning record in Pennington football history, coaching countless All-State players and many athletes who went on to play in college. Despite his numerous accolades and recognitions as an athlete, faculty member, and coach, it is Chief's personal impact on the hundreds of students under his tutelage that truly defines his legacy. We are excited that Jerry intends to remain connected to Pennington through the Advancement Office so he can continue to network with alumni.

Patrick Murphy ’80 started working at Pennington in 1987 and has held many roles, beginning as a faculty member, then moving to the Advancement Office as Director of Alumni Relations, and most recently as Associate Director of Athletics. As a coach of the Varsity Girls' Soccer team, Patrick has led the team to a record of 454-63-32 during his tenure. In addition, he had an impressive stint as the Varsity Boys' Soccer coach. For his contributions to Pennington soccer, Patrick, along with Head of School Dr. William S. Hawkey, was inducted into the Mercer County Soccer Hall of Fame in 2018. We are thrilled that Patrick will continue to remain involved in Pennington athletics, continuing to coach soccer, and we hope to see his continued impact for years to come.
