Two Nights of Professional Networking in NYC

This spring, the Pennington community—alumni, students, parents, and friends—gathered in New York City for two inspiring evenings of professional networking focused on the fields of technology and finance. The events fostered meaningful conversations, expert insights, and a strong sense of connection across generations. They were also designed, in part, to support Horizon business group students as they explore these industries as part of their senior projects.

Tech Night, held on May 28, brought together a dynamic panel of speakers who shared perspectives on trends in the industry including the role of AI in schools and education. Speakers included Patrick Janson ’02, product and technology lead at Hines Global Ventures; Cee Bunevich, vice president of partnerships at Fusemachines; Robert Diamond P’28, vice president, security architecture/engineering manager at Two Sigma Investments; John Geoghegan, head of digital data and insights at USAA; Sydney Gibbard ’19, associate at Boston Consulting Group; Jesal Trivedi ’07, product lead, digital cabin (IVI) emerging experiences at Ford Motor Company; and David Wan ’16, Google PhD fellow in natural language processing.

Finance Night featured a distinguished panel of industry leaders who shared insights on the evolving landscape of finance and offered valuable advice to students and young alumni preparing to enter the field. Insights were provided by Gillian Kemmerer ’07, director of business development at St. André; Christopher Auld ’90, managing director and head of leveraged finance at Stifel; Alexander Bauman ’12, vice president at RobertDouglas; Nitin Batra P’30, chief operating officer at Clifford Chance; and Mary Ross P’23, managing director and senior relationship manager at JP Morgan Investor Client Management Group.

The night concluded with a panel of recent alumni sharing their early career journeys: Ryan Harris ’19, wealth management rotational analyst at Morgan Stanley; Maxwell Henry ’20, funding specialist at Flexibility Capital; and Kostiantyn Rogankov ’20, part of the Diversified Staff Group at EY.
