Senior center midfielder Meg Balerna was recently named the Area Player of the Year by NJ.Com. Balerna and fellow senior Maya Raghunandanan joined nine local players in Mercer County on the area team.
Balerna, a team captain, played a pivotal role for the Red Hawks from her center midfield position as she was the team's heart and soul who provided leadership, tenacious defense, and accurate passing in the midfield. Balerna will head to Franklin & Marshall College next fall where she will join the Diplomats women's soccer program.
Maya Raghunandanan joined Balerna on the All Area Team as she contributed 11 goals and 5 assists to go along with her physical style of play which helped set the tone for the Red Hawks. Raghunandanan will move on to the University of Michigan next season where she will join the Wolverines women's soccer program.
