
Pennington’s varsity girls’ basketball team powered past Stuart Country Day in Princeton this afternoon, 60–43, securing a berth in the Prep B championship game.
Sophomores Eden Ashiavor and Dayonna Doggett each delivered double-doubles to lead the Red Hawks. Ashiavor poured in 26 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, while Doggett added 11 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists.
Senior captains Anna-Kaisa Hokkanen and Caiden O'Connell continued to anchor the team with steady leadership. Hokkanen scored 11 points in the win.
Junior Sara Surtz turned in a strong defensive performance and, alongside O’Connell, helped break the Tartans’ press. Surtz also contributed eight points and two steals.
Sophomores Laila Wingfield and Alice Corto-Souza, along with freshmen Allie Vannozzi, London Leaks, and Morgan Cerutti, provided key minutes to help close out the victory.
Pennington will face the winner of Villa Walsh versus Newark Academy. The championship game time and location will be provided once finalized.
