Pennington Golf Captures Fifth Prep B Title In 10 Seasons

Pennington's boys' golf team captured the NJISAA Prep B state championship on May 13 at Peddie Golf Club.

Pennington's team score was 301, which put them 15 strokes ahead of the second-place finisher, Ranney School (316), and comfortably ahead of Morristown-Beard School (324). Princeton Day School (329), Montclair Kimberley Academy (330), Rutgers Prep School (366), and Wardlaw-Hartridge School (369) also competed in the championships.

Pennington's Matt Sanderson '25 shot a one-under par 71 to take the medalist honors (best score) in Prep B. Pennington's remaining team members all scored under 80, as James Bradley '26 (75), Grady Adams '25 (76), Ryaan Shah '25 (79), and Topher Kelley '25 (79) all played well in rainy conditions.

The state title marks the seventh time Pennington has been crowned Prep B golf champions. Coach Tom Horsley's teams have won five B titles in the last ten years, and previous head coach Mike Winkler's teams won two titles.
