Pennington’s boys’ and girls’ swim teams recently welcomed The Lawrenceville School to the Michael T. Martin Aquatic Center and hosted their first meet of the season.

Pennington’s boys’ team dropped their meet against a talented Lawrenceville team, while Pennington girls’ team pulled off an exciting 88-82 win.

Several Pennington swimmers gained first place finishes either in relay teams or via individual events, including Piper Dubow (Girls’ 200-Yard Free, Girls’ 400-Yard Free Relay, Girls’ 100 Yard Breast, Girls’ 200 Yard Free Relay), Riley Edge (Girls’ 200-Yard IM, Girls’ 500-Yard Free, Girls’ 400-Yard Free Relay, Girls’ 400-Yard Free Relay), Owen Doughty (Boys’ 50-Free), Amelia Stevenson (Girls’ 100-Yard Fly, Girls’ 400-Yard Free Relay), BB Kim (Girls’ 200-Yard Free Relay, Girls’ 400-Yard Free Relay), Gracen Ward (Girls’ 200-Yard Free Relay), and Elena Nechay (Girls’ 200-Yard Free Relay).

The Girls’ 200 Medley Relay Team consisting of Riley Edge, Amelia Stevenson, Evin Roldan, and Elena Nechay took second while the relay team of Olivia Kaczynska, Gracen Ward, Malea Reilly, and Summer Partridge grabbed an important third place finish.

Elena Nechay and Gracen Ward went two-three for big points in the Girls’ 50 Free. Nechay would also go on to a third place finish in the Girls’ 100-Yard Free. Amelia Stevenson swam well in the Girls’ 100-Yard Back, taking second.

In the Girls’ 200-Yard Free Relay Evin Roldan, Deethya KarthikVatsan, Summer Partridge, and Ava Burns took an important third place finish. Evin Roldan grabbed a second place finish in the Girls’ 100-Yard Breast.

On the boys’ side, in the 200 Medley Relay, Owen Doughty, Ian Childrey, Alex Lee, and Alex Botero secured a second place finish. Caleb Collins took third in the Boys’ 200-Yard Free. Ian Childrey took third in the Boys’ 200-Yard IM.   

Alex Lee came up with a big third place finish in the Boys’ 100-Yard Fly. Alex Botero finished strong in the Boys’ 100-Yard Free. Caleb Collins powered through in the Boys’ 500-Yard Free to grab second place. 

Owen Doughty took third in the Boys’ 100-Yard Back, and Ian Childrey finished second in the Boys’ 100-Yard Breast. Caleb Collins, Alex Botero, Ian Childrey, and Owen Doughty closed out the meet by taking second in the Boys’ 400 Free Relay.
