A sweet and refreshing treat awaited newly enrolled students and their families at the third annual New Family Ice Cream Social. Co-hosted by Parents for Pennington (PfP) and the School’s Admission team, the event welcomed over sixty new families who were able to meet and mingle with current students, parents, faculty, and staff ahead of the 2025-26 school year.
New PfP President Amy Sullivan P’30 expressed her excitement in welcoming the incoming families: “We are just so happy to have everyone here with us today so that both students and parents can get a jumpstart on making those connections and forging those friendships that are at the heart of Pennington."
Assorted ice cream flavors and various toppings were provided by Uncle Ed’s Creamery of Pennington, which is within easy walking distance of campus. Courtesy of the Admission team, special temperature-sensitive, color-changing ice cream cups and spoons were available for students to take home, with both items sporting the Pennington School logo.
Icebreakers–in the form of games, like Jenga and cornhole–made it easy for new students to connect with their peers. New for this year was a fun, PfP-sponsored photo booth, complete with silly props and School-branded picture printouts to capture all the new bonds being made.
Making things even more exciting, families in attendance at the June 16 event were entered into a raffle to win a basket full of spirited swag from the School store. Though there was just one raffle winner, the store remained open late to accommodate all the incoming Red Hawks eager to purchase some School gear and start showing their Pennington pride!
