On March 4, the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey’s touring company, Shakespeare LIVE!, visited The Pennington School to perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream for eighth-grade students and Upper School drama students. The performance offered a lively and engaging interpretation of the classic play, which eighth graders are currently studying in their English classes.

The nationally recognized Shakespeare LIVE! touring company has been visiting Pennington for more than twenty years, bringing professional performances of Shakespeare’s work directly to students. This year’s audience included Upper School drama students, many of whom will perform in their own production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream that will travel to the United Kingdom in June.

Following the performance, students had the opportunity to ask questions and meet the actors, gaining insight into the creative process behind bringing Shakespeare’s language and characters to life. The visit provided a memorable and enriching experience, deepening students’ appreciation for live theater and the enduring relevance of Shakespeare’s work.
