Eleventh-grader awarded second place in poetry contest

Eleventh-grade student BB Kim was recently awarded second place in the Nancy Thorp Poetry Contest held by Hollins University in Roanoke, VA. BB's poem "Farmhouse Feminism" will be published in the Hollins student-produced literary magazine, Cargoes. As well as this publication, second-place prizes include a scholarship for the university's creative writing program, Hollinsummer, a renewable scholarship through the Creative Talent Award in Creative Writing to be used if enrolling at Hollins, and two copies of the literary magazine. BB's poem was recognized out of over 700 entries to the contest. Congratulations on this wonderful achievement!
