Financial Aid and Scholarships

More than half of families considering an independent school education cite affordability as their most pressing concern. Pennington must rise to the challenge by offering increased financial aid and scholarships. Supporting financial aid sustains our mission and allows us to build a unique and strong community—one rich in differences and diversity of all types.

Student Assistance Fund

Although traditional financial aid provides access, it doesn’t cover all of the cost of attending Pennington. The Student Assistance Fund ensures that all students, regardless of financial ability, can fully engage in all the School has to offer. This fund addresses additional expenses such as school supplies, athletic equipment, and activity fees and provides access to the full range of experiences. 

Academic and Leadership Programs

By directing support to one of Pennington’s specialized academic offerings, like the Global Studies Certificate Program, or one of the School’s signature character and leadership development initiatives, such as the Horizon Program for seniors, you are making an important investment in the student experience—both in and beyond the classroom.  

Residential Housing: Old Main

The boarding program is an essential element of Pennington’s character, and Old Main accommodates over half of our boarding students and twelve faculty apartments. These spaces are some of the areas most in need of renovation on campus. A new student lounge in Old Main will create an inviting, comfortable gathering space for evenings and weekends—enriching the student experience and helping to strengthen the sense of the Pennington community (see rendering below). Refurbished student spaces in Old Main allow Pennington to attract and retain boarding students.
