Jeannie and Joe are proud the parents of four Pennington graduates (Sam ’06, Ben ’11, Grace ’18, and Vincent ’20). The Colalillos consider the Pennington community part of their extended family – one with strong values of care and service that match their own. Early philanthropic leaders in the Forever Pennington campaign, the Colalillos established the Colalillo Family Endowment for Faculty Excellence. Jeannie says, “This is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to all the faculty members who nurtured what is special in our kids, and who do the same for every student.”
Alumni, parents, and friends are making a meaningful impact on our students, faculty, and campus. Meet some of the generous individuals who are shaping Pennington’s future through their leadership and philanthropy.
In his 2022 Commencement address, board member Jordan Gray ’91 P’22 ’26 spoke about the transformative power of a Pennington education, which he experienced as a student and has witnessed as a parent of recent graduate Bennett ’22 and current student A.J. ’26. Gray is passionate about investing in access to education and assisting talented students to realize their full potential. He serves as co-chair of the Forever Pennington campaign and has inspired our community with his leadership and significant philanthropic investments for the campaign priorities of financial aid and campus enhancements.
Mary Anne and Jorge Guerrero P’94 are proud parents of alumnus Sebastian ’94 and they have given back to Pennington with their service, leadership, and generous philanthropy for the past twenty-five years. They are active members of the Pennington Leadership Council (PLC) and serve as visible advocates for the Forever Pennington campaign. Members of the 1838 Society and the Francis Harvey Green Society, the Guerreros made both a multi-year leadership pledge to the Pennington Fund and a documented planned gift as part of their generous commitment.
Anjali and Rahul Shah P’27 are helping set an impressive example for the School’s parent community with their generous support and volunteer leadership. They are inaugural members of the Pennington Leadership Council and have made a commitment to the Forever Pennington campaign as 1838 Society donors to the Pennington Fund. The Shahs say, “We believe in Pennington’s mission. The School provides the academic, social, and moral scaffolding that enables students to achieve their full potential, discover and pursue their passions, and become well-rounded, kind, and thoughtful individuals.”
Stephen Tan ’73 is a Board member and School champion who has made significant contributions to every major capital campaign for Pennington over the past fifty years. For the Forever Pennington campaign, Tan demonstrated his leadership in the alumni community and enduring love for the School with a significant gift directed toward a priority capital project—the major renovation of the small gym at the heart of the campus.
Cindy and Sean Woodroffe P’22 established the Lauren Nicole Woodroffe ’22 Endowed Scholarship Fund in honor of their daughter and young alumna Lauren Woodroffe ’22. The family established the scholarship as part of the Forever Pennington campaign to show their gratitude for Pennington’s exceptional faculty and caring community. “We wanted to provide a scholarship that would ensure that students of color who are eager to learn can have the same breadth and depth of experiences that Lauren had,” says Sean.
Every Gift CountsThe Forever Pennington campaign calls for each member of our community to be as bold as the School’s founders and as generous as those who first believed in and supported their vision. We aim to create an enduring future for Pennington, honoring our core values and bolstering our mission to develop individual excellence in every student. We invite you to be part of our community of Pennington alumni, parents, and friends who are making a difference as we build the School’s future together. All gifts to The Pennington School, including gifts to the Pennington Fund, are counted toward the campaign. The time is now…FOREVER PENNINGTON. |
