Drew Curry '76

Two men standing togetherDrew Curry '76 describes his time at Pennington from 1972 to 1975 as “three of the best years of my life. I played basketball for Pennington; Coach Waters and Coach Long were mentors to me. I had a great, diverse group of friends, and the teachers really had time for us. You got to form trusting relationships with teachers. I had such a great experience in high school and Pennington was a big driver of that.”

"When you hit your 40s and 50s, you start looking back, and you realize and appreciate what has been important in your life."

Recently, when it became time to update his will, Drew said he wanted to “support organizations that were important” to him. “In crafting a will,” he explains, “you think about what has made a great impact on who you have become. Along with my college, Pennington was definitely that place for me.”

For his planned gift, Drew allocated a percentage of his estate to Pennington, one of the simplest ways to allocate a bequest in a will. The process, Drew says, was “really easy.” In his brief meeting with his attorney, Drew relayed his wishes and she incorporated them into his will. “We signed it and it was done, right then.”
